Hillside Family Medicine
& Occupational Medicine
Dr. Tonya Caylor joined the Hillside team in March 2015. Dr. Caylor was born and raised in Florida. After completing most of her undergraduate at the University of Florida, she received her bachelor's from the University of West Florida. She obtained her medical degree in 1996, completed her family medicine residency training in 1999, both at the University Of South Alabama College Of Medicine, and is a Fellow and Board Certified Family Physician.
Dr. Caylor is a clinical associate professor through the University of Washington and began teaching at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency Program in 2008. Prior to that, she collaborated with 3 major hospitals and a faith-based organization in Florida to help form an indigent care clinic and served on a non-profit board focused on the medically underserved. Dr. Caylor has also served internationally, leading several short-term medical mission trips to SE Asia.
She and her husband moved to Alaska in 2007. She has two grown daughters who also love Alaska and all of its outdoor adventures. Dr. Caylor loves hiking “a peak a week” in the summers and is active in her faith community. She also enjoys travel, cooking (well- being a sous chef for her husband), running and reading.
